Presentation by Martin Gysi in German
Welcome presentation by Silvia Hagen
Martin Gysi from Swisscom shows MAP works (Mapping of Address and Port), one of the newer transition technologies. MAP is similar to 6rd, which is in use by Swisscom today, but the other way round. While 6rd delivers IPv6 data across an IPv4 backbone, MAP delivers IPv4 data across an IPv6 backbone. This reduces the requirements for existing or new IPv4 NATs and is therefore a welcome transition technology. Martin Gysi will compare MAP with other transition mechanisms such as DS-Lite to explain the pro's and con's of each mechanism and where it can best be used. Based on a lab setup the functionality of MAP will be discussed in detail.
The presentation will be held in German.
